Welcome to the inaugural issue of WSFEE Spotlight...an opportunity to showcase the work of WSFEE and the impact the organization has had on YOUR children, neighbors and community.

Who is WSFEE?

Founded in 1992, the Western Springs Foundation for Educational Excellence (WSFEE) is a non-profit volunteer organization with a mission to acquire and distribute financial and other resources for the benefit of Western Springs School District 101 students.

What Does WSFEE Do?

WSFEE provides funding, via grant requests, for innovative educational programs and projects that will extend and enhance the quality and depth of education and are not otherwise part of the District 101 operational budget.  Grants support every aspect of education, such as the arts, science, technology, literacy, social studies and physical education.

Requests are evaluated twice a year by the WSFEE Board of Directors and grants are awarded based on a set of criterion including the merit of the request in terms of educational enhancement, the number of students impacted, and availability of funds. Details regarding the grant application process can be found on www.wsfee.org.

Funds for the grants are raised through a variety of activities, such as a bi-annual dinner dance, auctions, golf outings and other parent-hosted social events.

In addition to providing unique learning experiences for students, WSFEE also supports unique growth opportunities for teachers through creative programs, such as the Travel and Learn for the Classroom (TLC) fellowships.

WSFEE 2011 Golf Outing and 19th Hole Party
Plan on joining us for our bi-annual golf outing and 19th hole party on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott.

Ready for spring?  Come join us at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott for our bi-annual golf outing, dinner and raffle.  If you are agolfer, enjoy the beautiful course, fun games, and the competition for the WSFEE cup (currently held by Field Park).  If you are not a golfer, come enjoy great company while having a cocktail and dinner, and take your chance at winning some cash in the raffle!  All proceeds from this event will be used to fund our semi-annual grant rounds, and ensure the great programs sponsored by WSFEE continue in the future.  If you have questions or are interested in sponsoring a hole, please email us at contactus@wsfee.org.  Invitations and raffle tickets will be mailed to all residents in the District in early April, so keep your eye out for them.
